What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a safe and effective form of medicine. It was developed in ancient China and has continued to be practiced for centuries. It works to remind the body how to heal itself. This is done by activating subtle changes that work to return the body to its natural state of balance. It can be used to effectively treat both physical and emotional concerns.
An Acupuncturist gently inserts thin, sterile, single-use needles into specific locations (or acupuncture points) on the body. Acupuncture is a relatively painless, calming form of holistic medicine.

"Nexus"
From the Latin word meaning "A binding together" the word "nexus" refers to the central point of stillness where many pieces are connected. It is the perfect embodiment of what acupuncture and Eastern medicine can do. It takes the complexities of the human body and brings unity. The different parts that make up the individual person are important in defining who they are: their emotions, thoughts, experiences, careers, hobbies, relationships, ailments, and skills all come together to create an identity.
Acupuncture not only treats the ailments and symptoms of the patient, but also takes into account the many pieces that make up who they are as a person. Everybody is unique, and your medicine should be too. It should be capable of combining the complexity of who you are into a nexus of treatment, tailored specifically to you and your needs.
Our name Nexus embodies this goal of treating the whole person, not just their symtoms, in order to provide long-lasting benefits.
